Astrology: is it scientific?

Sometimes a question is asked is astrology scientific. I feel the same question should be asked of scientists as to why sciences could not predict droughts or earthquakes despite knowing so much. The issue is when these questions are asked, the basic mindset of the questioner is that I will ignore 99 predictions for a single lack of prediction. We need to have a better understanding of these fundamental questions:

A horoscope is made with the birth time and place. If we assume that the horoscope dictates the events throughout life then that means there is no free will. If there is no free will then how will the horoscopes of all persons will be different. If all human beings have come from the same origin and there is no free will then how well the horoscopes be so different. That proves that there is free will. If there is free will then a person should be able to do away with the impact of accumulated karma from previous lives and by karma of present life. However, that will depend upon the relative strength of the karmas of this life and the accumulated karmas of the previous life. That's where some of the predictions go wrong. It's very difficult to account for the present life karmas of a person while reading a horoscope due to lack of information.

In the case of public figures, there is no certainty about the time and at times the date of birth. All astrologers are not perfect as all scientists are not. But the weaknesses of a bad student of science shall not take the credit away from science. Astrology is operating in an astral world and too much of its use for mundane purposes is not desirable. So many good astrologers abstain from such predictions consciously.

The astrologer giving the predictions is himself a living being and the same astral forces are affecting his judgement. So if he or she has a negative astral combination at the time of analysis, such astral forces will affect his own judgment. Like Heisenberg uncertainly, it's very difficult to observe reality at a quantum scale. Similarly, analysis at the astral level is quite challenging and demanding and with the noise in daily life, it's difficult today to look at any horoscope in silence. The mental prejudices of an astrologer may not allow him to examine the horoscope in depth. The astrologer should have the capacity to understand the astral world and the hidden meanings therefrom the entire analysis will be too shallow.
